On different sides of town

If you happen to be in the neighbourhood of Lidingö Centrum and are hungry you might want to pop in at Espresso deli & coffeshop. It's situated in an old dairyshop, I think, and it's quite charming. In the summers you can also sit outside.

If you're, like me, a vegetarian the dishes on offer are only a few, like foccaccia, greek sallad, veggie lasagna, perhaps a soup. So if I lived in the neighbourhood I wouldn't be a regular guest - or perhaps I'd appeal to their sense of vegetarian dignity.

Beware of the fact that they use canned paprika and artichoke *not a nice one*

At lunchtime you should to be there early or late, because it might be quite difficult to get a table. They also offer catering services.

On the other side of town, much smaller, but still the same type of coffeeshop I think, you'll find Wennblads. A very basic menu with sandwiches, grilled sandwiches and sallads plus hot and cold drinks and a few sweets. I wasn't too thrilled with the grilled halloumi-sandwich, it was badly in need of spices. But the beansallad that accompanied was just excellent! And it was really good value for the money. The blueberry/raspberry smoothie was a yum too. In the summers you can have your lunch or snack outside.
